It's a shame the timing didn't line up with The Suff, that would have been perfect for this. Suff bonus chapter? And yeah, my substack right now can feel like too much of a mixture, but having everything in one place is helpful, so for the next serial I don't need to start from square one subscriber wise.
John, I would definitely call Sketchy Scoops a worthy experiment and success. Many writers are afraid to step out from their normal routine to see how readers would respond to something new. Kudos to you, and I look forward to seeing where you're headed next with Written Ward. 👍
I'm still working my way around substack, but I do like some of the features already. Now I just have to figure out how I will structure my space. That's a big job, but I think you know that based on this post.
Follow some people in the fiction community. There are a lot of us and we try to be generous with advice about how things work or stuff we’ve learned. Simon K Jones, Brian Reindel, S.E. Reid, and several others are all great follows. Start off with following those folks and see who the repeat crowds that show up in their comments are and then pick and choose people from those to follow. It won’t be long until you’re part of the clique.

Yeah, the Suff would have been a natural fit. Maybe Scoop could come back for one more ride? Who knows?

Thanks, Brian. That’s very kind of you.

A new network to explore. Kind of exciting! Thanks.
Good luck!
